Mississippi First has been working with Common Ground for Common Core student interns from the University of Mississippi, Mississippi State University, Tougaloo College, and Millsaps College to spread awareness and accurate information about the standards and add an important voice missing from the state-wide common core dialogue – the voice of students. This fall, student interns have been working on their campuses to inform students, faculty, and staff members about the importance of higher standards and how the Common Core State Standards can impact college students using their own experiences as students. Common Ground for Common Core interns will be bringing 50 students from each campus to participate in the event.
