We are ecstatic to be one of the few voices singled out by the AP as an education power player. See the article here: http://www.sunherald.com/2013/01/06/4390240/analysis-education-will-dominate.html).
The AP’s Emily Wagster Pettus writes of us: “Mississippi First, a nonprofit group, has been shoulder-deep in a wide variety of education proposals the past couple of years, including advocating that schools teach evidence-based sex education courses. This session, the group is deeply involved in pushing for charter schools in academically struggling parts of the state.”
As many of you know, we have come a very long way in a very short amount of time on a very limited budget. We’re going to celebrate this recognition and get back to work!
