This week, Mississippi First released a 22-page Charter School Media Toolkit. This toolkit was created by Mississippi First to help local media better understand charter schools in the state. The toolkit outlines the history of charter schools in Mississippi, information about the Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board, and research about charter schools around the nation.
“This toolkit is the first-ever media resource on charter schools specific to Mississippi. We hope members of the media are able to use this toolkit to better understand the Mississippi Charter Schools Act of 2013,” stated Executive Director Rachel Canter.
Readers will find in the toolkit 3 brochures created by Mississippi First over the past year to inform the public about charter schools. If you are interested in learning more about charters schools in Mississippi or about how to open a charter school in your community, contact Erika Berry at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Mississippi First website.
