Mississippi First published the first State of Pre-K report in 2015. It was the state’s first report describing access to quality pre-K on a community level and across provider types in Mississippi. In 2017, we published an update to the report. The newest iteration of the report will be released in 2021.

Mississippi First published the 2015 State of Pre-K in Mississippi report. The report details programmatic and contextual data about public school pre-K programs and the communities they served in the 2011-2012 school year.

In 2017, Mississippi First released the 2017 State of Pre-K in Mississippi report. In this report, Mississippi First provided data and analysis of private and public pre-K providers, including Head Start, private licensed childcare centers, and Early Learning Collaboratives.

In continuing our research in the quality and access of pre-K in Mississippi, we released the 2021 State of Pre-K brief reports. The briefs focus on the solid evidence that the collaborative program is expanding pre-K quality statewide, supported by data from the 2017-2018 school year.
