Childcare Funding Matters: A Mississippi Mom’s Story

Mississippi First is launching a new video campaign calling for increased appropriations to Mississippi’s Child Care Payment Program.

High-quality childcare is essential for children, working families, and our state’s economic future—but today, too many Mississippi families struggle to access or afford the care they need. Our video series will spotlight real stories from families and providers across the state to show why investing in childcare is not optional—it’s urgent. In our first video, you will hear from Ashley Chrietzberg, a mom from Clinton, Mississippi, about the impact that access to childcare vouchers has had on her life.

When childcare is accessible and affordable, families succeed, providers remain open, and communities grow stronger. Increased appropriations to Mississippi’s Child Care Payment program would allow more families like Ashley’s to access the care they need and deserve.

Mississippi First is committed to ensuring children have access to high-quality early childhood services, and we’ll be advocating for stronger policies in the upcoming legislative session. Stay tuned by following us on FacebookXInstagram, and LinkedIn.
